Zone Four - Forearms, Wrists & Arms

  • Avoid bending hands up at the wrist when typing, (wrists should remain at a similar height to the keyboard and mouse)
  • Forearms should always be parallel to the floor
  • The bottom of the elbow should also be level with the home row of the keyboard
  • Always use a gel keyboard wrist rest and mouse pad wrist rest for comfortable use
  • Always use a separate keyboard with a laptop

Tip: Wrist supports offer comfort and support whilst you work, helping to alleviate pressure points and work in a more productive and healthy position.

Hint: Whilst laptops have integral pointing devices, it is recommended that users use a separate keyboard and mouse. Fellowes also recommend using gel keyboard rests and wrist rests to reduce the risks of forearm and wrist related illnesses such as tennis elbow and carple tunnel syndrome.
